Job Description:

This travel nursing opportunity in Artesia, NM offers a chance to work in a 26-bed facility specializing in Medical, Surgical, and PCU units. The role involves 12-hour day shifts with a weekly commitment of 36 hours over approximately 13 weeks. You will be engaging in patient assessments, vital monitoring, managing drips such as insulin and amiodarone, and interpreting tele strips on Mindray cardiac monitors. A blend of ICU experience and proficiency in MS/Telemetry is essential. The setting provides a unique challenge: nurses often rotate through modules that require prior completion, including a 20-hour online training, with billing permitted for part of that time. Expect to work in an environment with patients who can be very ill, including those on drips and invasive monitoring. While charge nurses have lighter loads, travelers aren't typically asked to assume charge roles, and you'll have a team of nurse aides supporting patient care. Your responsibilities will include vital signs, ADLs, I/Os, transfers, and patient transports, with occasional titration of drips and reading telestrips. The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art respiratory equipment, and you'll manage continuous BiPAP/CPAP therapy. This assignment promises a challenging yet rewarding experience for experienced MS/Tele nurses ready to adapt and excel in a smaller hospital setting.
