Job Description:

This 13-week travel assignment places you in the Medical Surgical unit of a reputable hospital in Mountain Home, Idaho. As an experienced RN, you'll be working 12-hour day shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM, providing care for a diverse patient population ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics. Your role involves supporting patients with conditions such as pneumonia, CHF, COPD, post-surgical recoveries like hysterectomies and cholecystectomies, as well as managing babies with elevated bilirubin and patients in rehab with swing beds. You will work alongside nurse aids and remote tele techs, with occasional opportunities to serve as a charge or preceptor nurse. The unit operates with a nurse-to-patient ratio typically at 1:4, and you'll be supporting with IV drips like insulin and antibiotics, rarely titrating, with plenty of opportunity to collaborate on complex cases. The unit includes a range of respiratory equipment, including CPAP and BiPAP, with RTs responsible for setup and monitoring. You'll receive comprehensive orientation with two 12-hour shifts, and the schedule includes weekend and holiday rotations to ensure comprehensive staffing. Experience with reading strips and familiarity with telemetry monitors are preferred. This role offers a weekly gross pay of approximately $1,969.46, with a total of 36 hours per week, suitable for travelers seeking an engaging and rewarding surgical setting experience.
