Job Description:

Join a Registered Nurse role in a PCU (Clinical Interview Unit) focused on post–cardiac procedural recovery and mixed acuity step-down work. You’ll care for a range of cardiac-focused cases including direct and ED admits, post cath lab patients, and step-down level recovery after procedures such as CABG/TAVR, post open heart surgery, post pacemaker insertion, and post EP studies. The unit also manages MI/CHF/dysrhythmia support and may include therapies such as IABP (with IABP patients typically going to ICU), TNK administration (preferred), heparin gtts, and titratable cardiac/vasoactive infusions.

This assignment runs on a 12-hour day shift schedule with a predictable weekend rotation (every other weekend) and every-other holiday expectations. Expect RN ratios of about 1:4 most of the time (1:3 when acuity requires it), with support from CNA staff and RT coverage 24/7. Charting is in Epic.

Required credentials include BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS. Epic experience is preferred; if you haven’t used Epic before, approval is needed. If you’re a PCU-experienced RN with cardiac rhythm interpretation and familiarity with cardiac procedural recovery workflows, this role offers a focused way to stretch your expertise—without overdoing the “usual travel” routine.

Weather:

Expect a mix of cool days and brisk evenings, with occasional breezy conditions. Dry stretches are common, and temperatures can swing from mild to noticeably cool depending on the day.
