Job Description:

Join a dedicated Stepdown/PCU unit in Weirton, West Virginia, for a 13-week contract working 12-hour night shifts. This position requires at least 2 years of experience in cardiac monitoring and patient care within similar settings. You will manage patients with diagnoses such as post-pneumonia, post-catheterization, seizures, and pacemaker care, often working with cardiac drips like heparin, dopamine, and nitro. Your responsibilities include vital sign assessments, administering medications, repositioning patients, blood sugar monitoring, and operating respiratory equipment, including troubleshooting and assist with breathing treatments. Expect to read and interpret telemetry strips, collaborate with intensivists, and work under a team that values your expertise in cardiac and stepdown patient care. The hospital provides a supportive environment with RT available 24/7, on-site intensivists, and a collaborative team of nurse aides and monitor techs. The unit promotes a flexible schedule where staff may float between units, with a formal orientation process to help you settle in comfortably.
