Job Description:

This contract opportunity is tailored for a registered nurse with at least 2 years of experience in acute care settings. The role involves providing specialized care on a 12-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Bossier City, LA, where you'll manage patients experiencing respiratory failure, sepsis, stroke, DKA, and post-procedure recovery such as heart caths and arteriograms. Expect to work 12-hour day shifts, with a flexible schedule that may include every other weekend and rotational days off, including potential holiday work. The environment demands proficiency with CVL management, arterial lines, tube feeding, and titration of critical drips like Levophed, Drip titration, and insulin management. Support staff such as resource nurses, RTs, hospitalists, and PTs are available, and charting is done via Meditech Expanse.
