Job Description:

This 13-week contract positions seasoned CVICU RNs in a bustling university hospital's Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. The role involves managing critically ill cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgery patients, including those on ECMO, LVADs, and post-heart transplant. You’ll work 12-hour night shifts, providing direct patient monitoring, titration of critical drips, and reading ECG strips to identify rhythm changes. The unit boasts a low nurse-to-patient ratio, includes CNA support, and operates with an intensivist on-site 24/7. Unique to this assignment is the collaborative environment with multiple providers and the need for top-level critical care skills amid a fast-paced setting.
