Job Description:

Join our team as an Operating Room Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel contract in Springfield, Illinois. You'll work four 10-hour days each week, from 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM, supporting a busy Level I trauma center with 562 beds. This role requires a minimum of three years' experience in general and trauma surgery, specializing in laparoscopic assisted procedures, trauma cases, and complex surgeries. You'll be working with all service lines except cardiovascular, with a focus on trauma, neuro, orthopedics, plastic surgery, transplant, and urology cases. Expect to work with Cerner charting and clinical equipment like electrosurgical units and fiber optic light sources. The assignment offers a challenging yet rewarding environment for experienced OR nurses eager to tackle diverse surgical cases and a variety of trauma scenarios, including gunshot/stab wounds and multi-injury events. Candidates must have an active Illinois license or be in the application process, and be prepared for occasional on-call duties. Local candidates are not accepted; applicants must live at least 50 miles from the facility. During your shift, you'll engage in patient safety protocols, blood product administration, infection control, and quality assurance measures—all in a hospital renowned for its trauma care and surgical excellence.
