Job Description:

Step into a brand-new Medical Surgical/Telemetry environment as a Registered Nurse on a fast-growing unit in Shreveport, Louisiana. This assignment blends telemetry monitoring with a wide mix of acuity and post-op overflow, including occasional Total Joints (knees, hips, shoulders) and GI/abdominal procedures such as hemicolectomies and bowel resections. You’ll work within a team built for learning—travelers receive structured onboarding with a hospital orientation followed by additional unit orientation based on experience.

You’ll care for patients managed for conditions including sepsis, cellulitis, DVT/PE, CHF, COPD, COVID, and pneumonia, while staying on top of required RN skills such as wound management, JP drains, wound vacs, and dialysis catheter care (including fistulas). Charting is handled in Meditech Expanse with medication dispensing through Pyxis, and IV pump support is provided via Alaris. Before arrival, you’ll be required to pass an EKG competency exam as part of compliance.
