Job Description:

This travel contract offers a chance to work in a rural hospital setting, providing labor and delivery services on a 12-hour night shift schedule. The RN will be responsible for managing patients over the course of 36 hours weekly, participating in labor, postpartum, and neonatal unit activities. The role emphasizes teamwork, independence, and clear communication, with a focus on supporting mother/baby couplets and managing common obstetric diagnoses. Certification requirements include BLS, ACLS, and NRP, along with specific clinical troubleshooting of neonatal vent equipment and fetal monitoring systems. The assignment is unique due to its location far from tertiary NICU services, making independent decision-making and familiarity with limited on-site resources essential. The nurse will work with a dedicated charge nurse, follow AWHONN guidelines, and engage in a brief unit orientation.
