Job Description:

Join our team as a PACU Registered Nurse in Wilmington, North Carolina, and find yourself immersed in a fast-paced recovery environment focused on post-surgical care. This 13-week contract offers a unique opportunity to manage patients emerging from anesthesia, often upgrading from or managing ICU-level cases without floating to the ICU itself. You'll be responsible for performing assessments, monitoring vital signs with advanced equipment like arterial lines and ICP monitors, and ensuring patients meet discharge criteria. The shifts are 12 hours overnight, from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a maximum of 7 days off RTO. This role requires quick decision-making skills and a knack for managing a varied caseload, including vascular, neurosurgery, orthopedic, and outpatient procedures. While the facility relies heavily on your expertise, you’ll also be part of storm or hurricane teams, providing critical coverage during emergencies. No two nights are alike, and the experience gained will elevate your critical care skills while working in a supportive environment.
