Job Description:

This ER Registered Nurse position offers an engaging 13-week contract in a 56-bed Level I trauma center in Springfield, Illinois. The role involves 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), with an average weekly commitment of 48 hours. You will be instrumental in managing a daily census of approximately 175 patients, providing critical care across adult and pediatric populations. Expect to interpret dysrhythmias, manage multisystem organ failures, administer medications including IV sedation and emergency drugs, and perform procedures like IV starts, blood product transfusions, and splinting. The position requires at least two years of ER experience, familiarity with Cerner charting, and active Illinois licensure or pending application. First-time travelers are welcome, and weekend shifts are required on an every-other-week basis. This assignment emphasizes emergency department skills and fast-paced decision-making in a high-volume setting—your expertise will truly make a difference.
