Job Description:

This 13-week travel contract places you in a busy Med/Surg unit at a hospital in Evansville, Indiana, working night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM. You'll be mainly responsible for managing post-surgical patients, UTI cases, sepsis, COPD, CHF, and other common Med/Surg conditions. Expect to perform tasks such as remote tele monitoring, chest tube management, NG/PEG tube care, straight caths, Foleys, ostomies, and blood or blood product administration. With recent EPIC charting experience, you'll oversee a 41-bed unit with a staffing ratio of roughly 1:4-5 during days and 1:6-7 overnight. This role offers an engaging opportunity to demonstrate your strong assessment and critical thinking skills in a healthcare setting that values resilience and adaptability. Travel to neighboring campuses may be required, with a 2-hour notice for cross-campus float. The schedule includes three weekends out of every six weeks and every other holiday, providing a balanced work-life dynamic. To succeed, you'll need a current compact license, AHA BLS, NIHSS, and at least 2 years of Med/Surg experience, including trauma level II settings.
