Job Description:

This orthopedic unit in Peoria, Illinois is seeking a dedicated RN for a 26-week travel contract working 12-hour night shifts. In this role, you will handle a diverse caseload including medical surgical, postoperative orthopedic, and trauma patients with fractures. Your responsibilities will involve providing post-op surgical care, managing general med-surg needs, and troubleshooting equipment such as CPAP and high-flow vents. The unit maintains a nurse-patient ratio of approximately 1:4 to 1:6, with dedicated charge nurses and 24/7 house supervision. Prior experience of 1-2 years in surgical or medical units is preferred. You will be expected to participate in two unit-specific orientations and adhere to the hospital’s policies, including a drug-free environment. This assignment promises a chance to hone specialized skills in orthopedic and trauma care while working in a supportive, fast-paced setting.
