Job Description:

Join a 44-bed Progressive Care Unit in Rapid City, South Dakota, as a Registered Nurse on a 13-week contract working 12-hour night shifts. This role offers an opportunity to work in a mixed acuity setting, handling patients with intermediate care needs, cardiac procedures, and post-op recovery. The ideal candidate will have at least 1.5 years of general nursing experience, including a minimum of 1 year in a similar PCU environment. This assignment is perfect for nurses comfortable with cardiac pharmacology, rhythm interpretation, and managing patients with complex conditions like MI, CHF, and post-cardiac procedures. Expect to deliver quality care across diverse scenarios, from direct admits to transfers from ED and cath labs, with a patient RN ratio typically around 1:4. The unit supports a collaborative team, including CNAs, a resource nurse, and remote cardiac monitoring overseen by telemetry techs. Travel nurses with EPIC experience are encouraged to apply, and support for unit orientation is provided to ensure a smooth transition.
