Job Description:

Join a busy Medical Surgical unit in Denison, Iowa, for a 13-week travel nursing assignment working 12-hour night shifts from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. This role offers a weekly gross pay of approximately $2,086.88 with a commitment of 36 hours per week. You'll be providing care in a critical access hospital that handles a diverse range of patient conditions, including respiratory issues, post-surgical recovery, pediatrics, and cardiac monitoring. The unit often manages cardiac drips like Cardizem and insulin, requiring the ability to recognize basic cardiac rhythms. Float requirements include OB nurses moving to MedSurg/Tele areas, with MedSurg/Tele nurses generally remaining in their designated units. The setting is fast-paced but supportive, and experience with Cerner, Bi-Pap setup, or CAH experience is highly preferred. Certifying in BLS, ACLS-AHA, and PALS-AHA is required. Orientation typically involves two shifts with a preceptor on the unit. This assignment offers self-scheduling opportunities, including block scheduling, and every-other-weekend shifts. The nurse will work with a team of about five nurses, with patient ratios rarely exceeding 1:6.
