Job Description:
This ultrasound technologist role involves performing a wide range of abdominal, obstetrical, gynecological, and select vascular exams in a hospital setting in Boston. You’ll be conducting high-level imaging, assisting physicians during invasive procedures, and ensuring proper disinfection of ultrasound transducers. This assignment features rotating night shifts of 10 hours and requires hands-on expertise with Doppler, renal artery stenosis, and transplant imaging. You’ll interact directly with patients, review charts, select appropriate equipment, and occasionally operate portable ultrasound devices outside the radiology department. It’s a comprehensive technical position that demands ARDMS certification, experience with transplants, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. On-call duties are part of the role, and a strong attention to infection control standards is essential.
Weather:
The weather around this time of year in Boston tends to be mild with a blend of cool breezes and comfortable temperatures. It’s generally a pleasant climate for outdoor activities, with crisp mornings and warm afternoons. Expect occasional rain showers, so layering is recommended for comfort when commuting or exploring the city.
Fun Things To Do:
- Visit the Boston Common and Public Garden for a leisurely stroll through historic greenery.
- Take a day trip to Cape Cod for beaches, lighthouse views, and fresh seafood.
- Explore the Freedom Trail, a self-guided tour through historic landmarks across Boston.
- Drive to Salem and discover its rich maritime history and witch trial museums.
- Enjoy a harbor cruise to see the city from the water, ideal for a relaxing day out.
