Job Description:

Join Aspirus Wausau Hospital as a Cardiac Telemetry/Step Down RN for a 13-week contract. You'll be working 12-hour day shifts, from 0700 to 1930, covering a fast-paced 44-bed intermediate cardiac stepdown unit. This role offers the chance to gain specialized experience with post-op CABG, valve procedures, arrhythmias, and heart failure cases. Your responsibilities will include managing complex cardiac patients, often with a patient ratio of 1:4, and floating to all inpatient units as needed. The assignment emphasizes independent work and resilience, with guaranteed weekly hours and the opportunity to work in a high-acuity environment where quick thinking is essential. The unique aspect of this contract is the flexibility around low census hours in 4 or 8-hour increments, allowing a focus on quality care during busy periods while accommodating periods of lower activity.
