Job Description:

Join a reputable hospital in Shreveport, LA, as a Registered Nurse specializing in Med/Surg and telemetry. This 13-week contract offers a unique opportunity to work in a facility recognized for stroke and chest-pain care, with a patient population that includes transplant recipients, cardiac patients, and those with various acute conditions. You'll be responsible for managing patient care on a busy Med/Surg/Telemetry unit, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 during both day and night shifts. The role involves performing assessments, IV initiations, wound care, and supporting units within your scope, with support from resource nurses, RTs, and hospitalists. Pass an EKG competency exam and demonstrate your skills with cardiac strips and patient procedures. Expect to float to other units as needed, with a focus on maintaining safety and efficiency throughout your shift.
