Job Description

Take your nursing expertise to Tacoma as an Emergency Department travel RN supporting observation and trauma areas during 12-hour night shifts. You will care for Med/Surg and telemetry patients, monitor your own telemetry strips, and work with patients who are boarding while awaiting an inpatient room. This assignment uses Epic and includes collaboration with charge nurses, house supervisors, nurse aides, paramedics, patient sitters, laboratory staff, and transport teams.

The schedule runs from 7:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with every-other-weekend coverage and standby requirements. Travelers may float to similar units at nearby regional facilities in Lakewood or Enumclaw when needed, with a rate differential for assignments outside Tacoma. Required credentials include BLS and an active Washington license. Navy blue scrubs are required, and unit orientation is one day.

Weather

Tacoma typically offers cool, comfortable conditions with a mix of cloud cover, light rain, and occasional clear skies. Pack a dependable rain layer and enjoy the mild temperatures for exploring between shifts.
