Job Description:

This step-down Registered Nurse position in the oncology/chemo unit offers a chance to work closely with patients undergoing complex treatments like chemotherapy, using equipment such as IV pumps and vital sign towers. The role involves administering chemotherapy via IV, starting IVs, and documenting care in EPIC. You'll be caring for general medicine and oncology step-down patients, with specific certifications like ONCC or ONS required—either current or pending approval is acceptable. The shift is scheduled as 12-hour days, with a typical caseload supporting a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-6. You’ll also have the opportunity to float to other medical-surgical areas, including accumulated experience in AU and ER. The assignment offers block scheduling flexibility and the chance to work every other weekend. During your time here, you'll gain in-depth exposure to oncology care, complex medication administration, and varying patient needs in a collaborative environment.
