Job Description:

This 13-week travel contract places you on a fast-paced PCU floor in Omaha, Nebraska, where you'll work 12-hour night shifts caring for adult and geriatric patients with conditions such as cardiac issues, nephrology needs, strokes, diabetes, and those requiring continuous EEG monitoring. You'll be responsible for titrating various drips like Cardizem, beta-blockers, and seizure medications, while collaborating closely with charge nurses and a team of nurse aides. The role emphasizes critical thinking, effective communication, and a positive attitude to thrive in a busy environment. Orientation includes initial onboarding plus a couple of days on the floor, with a focus on skills validation through an open-book exam. The unit's patient ratios are approximately 1:4-5 with a high level of acuity, and safety policies such as fingernail prohibitions are strictly enforced.
