Job Description:

Join a fast-paced medical-surgical unit on the 4th Floor North & South at a busy hospital in Omaha, where you'll be working 12-hour day shifts for a 13-week contract. This role is focused on managing a variety of patient conditions such as joint replacements, fractures, COPD exacerbations, GI bleeds, and more. You'll oversee patients with a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:5-6, monitor titratable drips like Heparin, and respond promptly to hourly rounding with a friendly, team-oriented approach. The environment demands quick thinking and adaptability, with a team of nurse aides and Tele Techs interpreting monitor strips, while you maintain awareness of telemetry readings. Expect to play an integral role in a unit that handles multiple admissions and discharges daily—your organizational skills and compassionate attitude will help ensure smooth patient flow and care.

Job Specifics:

Location: Omaha, Nebraska

Shift: 12-hour days, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM

Duration: 13 weeks, approximately 36 hours per week with an estimated gross weekly pay of $1,960.32
