Job Description:

This contract opportunity places you in a 14-bed Medical-Surgical unit within a hospital that manages admission hold patients, overflow cases, and discharge pending patients. Your role involves medication administration, including IV and PO medications, conducting basic patient assessments, managing blood sugars, and providing oxygen therapy with nasal cannula. You'll work alongside a team that includes RN and LPN staff, with common diagnoses involving patients awaiting admission, transfer, or discharge, and requiring care that does not involve IV drips like Cardizem or insulin. The shift is a 12-hour day schedule, Monday through Friday, with the unit closing on weekends and holiday coverage only if falls midweek. This assignment offers a lively yet manageable environment, where your skills in Med Surg and a dash of cardiac care will shine. Expect to troubleshoot equipment such as vents and BiPAP devices, and coordinate patient care efficiently and safely during your shift.
