Job Description:

Join a highly specialized Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) team in Marshfield, Wisconsin, where you'll be part of a fast-paced environment caring for critically ill pediatric patients. This 13-week travel assignment involves working 12-hour night shifts, providing advanced care for patients with respiratory issues, trauma, neuro emergencies, and post-surgical needs. You'll handle complex responsibilities such as managing intubated patients, running drips for sedation, insulin, and heparin, and responding swiftly to emergency situations. This role offers a unique opportunity to enhance your critical care skills within a supportive team that includes in-house residents and staff, but no pediatrician in house. Expect to work with advanced respiratory equipment like ventilators, BiPAP, and Vapotherm. Nurses take on both patient care and monitoring responsibilities, including reading and interpreting telemetry strips, with flexible floating to NICU and adult units based on census. Self-scheduling fosters autonomy, and every other weekend and holiday work ensure a balanced but engaging work schedule.
