Job Description:

Join the team as a Neuro ICU Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract in Charlotte, North Carolina. This role offers the chance to work in a renowned comprehensive stroke center, managing critically ill stroke patients, including those with hemorrhagic and ischemic strokes, post-neurosurgery recoveries, and aneurysm treatments. The shift is a demanding yet rewarding 12-hour night schedule from 18:45 to 07:15, with a patient census typically ranging from 11 to 12, and a nurse-to-patient ratio adaptable up to 3:1 during high census. You will be responsible for ventilated patient care, ICP monitoring using devices like EVDs and Camino, managing complex neuro conditions, and utilizing specialized equipment such as NICOM and Arctic Sun. This assignment is best suited for experienced neuro ICU nurses who thrive in acute, fast-paced environments and are comfortable with procedures like lumbar drains and stroke-specific treatments. No call requirements, but float participation is expected, and weekend shifts are every other week. Prepare to take on a challenging role that requires strict adherence to protocols, certifications including ACLS, BLS, and NIH, and at least 2 years of neuro ICU experience.
