Job Description:

This contract offers an engaging opportunity for a registered nurse eager to work in a fast-paced emergency department setting. You'll be stepping into a Level III trauma center known for its high patient volume and diverse case mix, including neonatal to geriatric patients with conditions spanning stroke, cardiac emergencies, trauma, behavioral health, and substance use disorders. Your role will involve managing complex cases such as blood product administration, setting up chest tubes, assisting with trauma and code cases, and triaging in a high acuity environment. The shift is a 12-hour night schedule, providing a unique chance to experience the vibrant night shift atmosphere while keeping a flexible weekend rotation. This assignment is ideal for nurses who thrive on variety and challenge, handling patient ratios of 1:3-5 based on acuity and navigating the EMR system Epic. The hospital's busy emergency department sees 200-250 patients daily and operates with a dedicated team prepared for high-acuity cases, including pediatric emergencies and multi-system trauma. Expect to utilize your skills in rapid decision-making and your ability to adapt quickly in a resource-rich environment that values seasoned professionals with at least three years of ED experience.
