Job Description:

Join us for a 13-week travel healthcare contract in Peoria, Illinois, working as an RN in a Surgical Acute unit. This role offers an opportunity to manage post-op surgical patients, trauma cases, and wound care, with the chance to hone your critical thinking skills in a fast-paced environment. You'll be working 12-hour day shifts, providing care for 4-5 patients per shift under the supervision of charge nurses and house supervisors. The unit emphasizes teamwork, bedside manner, and patient safety, with a focus on procedures like IV therapy, dressing changes, drains, NGs, and central lines. No drip titrations are required, but experience with post-op care and the ability to seek help when needed are essential. You will have the opportunity to troubleshoot ventilators and high-flow oxygen devices, with telemetry monitoring provided at the central station. The position involves floating to units with similar experience levels and requires every other weekend and holiday shifts. Orientation includes precepted shifts, Epic training, and unit education to ensure you're prepared for this dynamic setting.
