Job Description:

Join our team as a PACU Registered Nurse in Wilmington, North Carolina, for a 13-week travel contract working 10-hour days from 9:45 AM to 8:15 PM. This role involves managing patients recovering from surgical procedures in the Phase 1 Recovery Unit, with a focus on patients who have undergone vascular, neurosurgical, orthopedic, gynecological, urological, plastic, ENT, pediatric, and other complex surgeries. The ideal candidate will often upgrade and oversee care in the PACU, with occasional recovery of ICU-level patients, but will not be floating to ICU units. This assignment offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced, varied environment with managing post-anesthesia recovery, using specialized equipment like cardiac monitors, ICP monitors, and wound vacs. RTO requests are not permitted after booking, and additional RTO or call-offs could impact the contract status. Experience with ICU settings, Phase 1-2 PACU, and certifications like ACLS, BLS, and PALS are required, with preferred skills including charge nurse experience and pediatric recovery. Your expertise will ensure smooth patient transitions from the OR to discharge, supporting a team that handles an array of surgical and post-op cases with professionalism and precision.
