Job Description:

Step into a surgical services contract role in Florence, South Carolina, where you’ll be the steady, behind-the-scenes team member that helps the operating room run safely and smoothly. In this position, you’ll work under a surgeon’s direction to support invasive and non-invasive procedures by keeping OR rooms prepared, equipment functioning properly, and sterile processes on track. Your day-to-day work includes maintaining sterile technique, assisting with positioning and prepping, supporting the sterile field for draping, and participating in time out verification activities.

You’ll also handle sterile instrument readiness—ensuring the right instruments, sutures, and devices are prepared and passed as needed—along with performing initial instrument, sharps, and sponge counts and completing additional counts when required. The role includes specimen preparation and pass-off, terminal cleaning support, and instrument preparation for terminal sterilization. Standard precautions and PPE use around blood and body fluids are expected, along with teamwork focused on a professional image and excellent relations with patients, visitors, physicians, and coworkers.

NBSTSA certifications are required.
