Job Description:
Join a travel contract as a Registered Nurse supporting a medical oncology unit in Columbus, Ohio. This role focuses on adult and geriatric solid tumor care across the cancer journey, from new diagnosis through treatment and into end-of-life transitions. You’ll work with a telemetry-capable environment, monitoring rhythms and supporting care for patients with true med-surg oncology needs.
Shifts are 12-hour nights (3x12) from 19:00 to 07:30 with a weekly commitment of 36 hours for a 16-week assignment. Staffing goals typically target a 1:4 ratio, with flexibility up to 1:5 based on unit needs. Schedule planning is handled through self-schedule requests—submit your preferences so they can be reviewed during balancing and final posting.
Orientation includes the first week on Mon–Fri days, followed by 36 hours of on-unit orientation with a preceptor. Prior oncology experience is preferred but not required; AYA experience is an offer item, and 2 years of experience is required. If you’re comfortable with telemetry interpretation and monitoring, computerized charting in EPIC, and potential floating to other MedSurg Oncology units, this assignment is built for you.
Weather:
Expect a mix of cool nights and mild-to-brisk days, with occasional cloud cover and chances of light precipitation. Bring layers for fluctuating temperatures and changing evening conditions.
