Job Description:

Work as an Emergency Department Registered Nurse on a 13-week travel contract in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. This role supports a fast-paced ED team delivering care for patients of all ages and includes direct, patient-facing responsibilities. You’ll staff the department as part of a 24/7 operation and be prepared to float to other units and hospitals as needed.

Your schedule is built around 12-hour mids, working 36 hours per week with every other weekend coverage and holiday requirements as scheduled. The experience is unique in how it blends specialized emergency services with collaboration across physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and support staff—so you’ll be active at the bedside, responding to a wide variety of clinical presentations while maintaining safe, evidence-based practice.

To qualify, you’ll need an Associate degree in nursing, a current Registered Nurse license for Alabama (or compact), and current AHA BLS and ACLS. Additional certifications required include PALS, TNCC, plus NIH OR Red Cross (as applicable). Secure and other on-site requirements are also required. You should have at least 2 years of experience (18 months may be considered) with 2 years of recent ED specialty experience.
