Job Description:

Join a short-term acute care setting in New Haven, Connecticut as a Registered Nurse for a CVICU (Cardiac ICU) role with stepdown coverage. This hybrid unit includes cardiac ICU and cardiac stepdown beds, with the majority of assignments supporting CT Surgery pre- and post-operative patients, plus occasional Advanced Heart Failure needs. Your daily work may vary between ICU and stepdown, and you may be asked to float within scope to meet facility coverage needs—especially to stepdown when required.

Expect 12-hour night shifts in a 3x12 schedule (19:00–07:00). Candidates should be comfortable with HVC and able to work across the unit’s changing mix of ICU and stepdown assignments. RN experience is required, along with ACLS and BLS. Epic is used for charting.

Certifications required: ACLS, BLS. Weekend rotation every other weekend is expected. First-timers are accepted. Pending licenses are accepted, provided they are active prior to start.

Expect cool, crisp air with a mix of clouds and clear days, plus occasional rain. Nights tend to feel colder, so dressing in layers is helpful for comfort when you’re heading in and out of shifts.
