Job Description:

Join a fast-paced hematology/oncology (Hem/Onc) unit at a major Mississippi hospital as a travel healthcare professional supporting adults requiring oncology services. In this role, you’ll work within Unit 5 South (Hem/Onc), handling a mix of hem/onc and chemo-related workflows. The assignment stands out for its focus on oncology care processes and the opportunity to learn chemotherapy administration through unit instruction (there is no on-site training offered for the role’s foundational clinical expectations).

Shift structure is 12-hour nights, with expectations to cover staffing needs as the unit runs busy medication rounds and active monitoring. You’ll float as needed within the skillset across med/surg units, with higher acuity assignments typically prioritized for core staff. Telemetry capability is available on the unit, and central monitoring communicates directly with nursing staff; on 3South, the tele setup includes central monitors at the nurses’ station.

What you’ll bring: a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, recent experience in a Level 1 or large (500+ beds) hospital, and strong comfort with lines and acuity. Level 1 trauma experience is required. BLS is required; ACLS is typically carried by charge RNs. Consider having ONC certification—preferred, not required.

Weather:

Expect warm, humid conditions with a mix of sunny days and occasional rain. Evenings can feel cooler, and thunderstorms may move through at times.
