Job Description:

Step into the role of an ER Registered Nurse providing nighttime coverage in an acute care hospital setting in Alton, Illinois. This contract is built around 12-hour night shifts, where you’ll work a consistent schedule of 36 hours per week across 3x12-hour days. You’ll be part of a busy Emergency Room workflow, supporting rapid assessment and treatment needs while using EPIC for documentation.

This assignment is a great fit for an ER RN who enjoys focused, high-tempo nights and values preparedness—especially when caring for patients across a wide range of conditions in the Emergency Room. The facility requires at least 1 year of experience, and first-timers are accepted. Weekends are required on an every-other basis.

Required certifications include ACLS and BLS, plus PALS and NRP. The role is not on-call, and floating within scope to meet facility needs is not expected.

Weather:

Expect a mix of cool evenings and mild-to-chilly days, with occasional breezes and chances of precipitation. Layers are helpful as temperatures can shift noticeably throughout the day.
