Job Description:

Step into a travel role as a Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse working in a Clinical Decision Unit/Medical-Surgical setting at a 9C short-stay unit. This assignment is built around fast, purposeful patient flow, supporting ED boarders, bedded outpatient holds, PACU boarders, and observation patients—especially for short-term treatment, monitoring, and transition planning until discharge or next-day transfer. You’ll work rotating shifts with weekend coverage on an every-other-weekend schedule, plus holiday rotation as required.

Expect to collaborate across the unit to care for a steady stream of new admissions coming in from the ED under medical-surgical service lines, with a variety of diagnoses that keep the day interesting and your nursing skills sharp. Charting is completed in Epic, and the unit supports floating within scope to meet facility needs. One clear highlight: this role is centered on short-stay decision-making and smooth transitions—where your judgment and organization truly matter.

Requirements include at least 1.5 years of Med Surg experience and Epic experience; charge experience may be requested. You’ll need a South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN license, plus BLS certification. First-timers are not accepted, and block scheduling depends on unit needs and manager approval.

Shift: 12 hour days (07:00–19:30), 3x12 with rotating shifts; every other weekend and holiday rotation required

Duration: 13 weeks
