Job Description:

Step into a fast-paced respiratory therapy role in Hilo, Hawaii, supporting continuous airway management for adult, pediatric, and neonatal populations. This is a travel contract built around three 12-hour day shifts per week (06:30–19:00), with 15 weeks to fully settle into the rhythm of the department and the work you’ll be doing each day.

You’ll provide ventilator and non-invasive ventilator management and support, assist with physician consultation as needed, and perform all aspects of respiratory care, including CPR. Expect hands-on work with unit equipment such as PB 980 and PB 840 ventilators, V60, and Para Pac transport ventilation, along with computerized charting and Pyxis medication management.

To be successful in this assignment, you’ll bring at least 2 years of experience as a respiratory therapist and be prepared to work confidently across the adult, pediatric, and neonatal spectrum. A Hawaii RRT and the required certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS; NRP preferred) are essential, and you must have a valid State of HI respiratory therapist license by the start of the assignment. Proof of flu vaccination or an approved medical or religious exception will be required prior to contract start.

Expect warm temperatures with humid, tropical conditions. Rain showers can happen, but clear periods are common, making it a great place to enjoy outdoor time between shifts.
