Job Description:

Join a fast-paced Labor & Delivery team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, as an experienced RN supporting high-risk mothers and newborns in a Level IV Trauma Center, Level III NICU, and Level III Perinatal setting. This travel contract is focused on comprehensive labor and delivery nursing across a variety of moments—from labor progression and fetal monitoring to antepartum care, surgical recovery, and newborn support. You’ll be integral in caring for complex cases, including high-risk presentations and conditions such as pre-eclampsia, massive transfusions, and placenta accreta.

Shift structure is 12-hour days, with a typical weekly commitment of 36 hours. The role includes direct involvement in vaginal deliveries as a primary nurse, participation during C-sections (with circulation not as the primary role), and hands-on clinical support during delivery-related procedures and post-delivery recovery. Expect strong coordination with charge nursing staffing, clinical resource support, and in-unit coverage including OB anesthesia, certified nurse midwives, and OB/GYN providers onsite. Charting is completed in EPIC.

Assignment requirements include Level III Perinatal Care experience. This is a specialized opportunity for travelers who are comfortable supporting placenta accreta and related workflows, and who can confidently perform the day-to-day responsibilities of OB triage, cervical exams, maternal assessments/interventions, and delivery recovery.
