Job Description:

Take your Labor & Delivery expertise on the road and join a Level 3 Trauma teaching hospital in Shelby, North Carolina, supporting a busy maternity unit with a mix of labor, triage, and delivery care. This travel contract is for an RN skilled in MedSurg/Tele coverage and comfortable working with fetal monitoring workflows across labor and postpartum spaces, including the ability to function in an LDRP setting.

You’ll work 12-hour night shifts, taking part in labor management, circulating for cesarean sections, completing pre-op and PACU support, and triaging as needed. On your shift, you’ll manage Pitocin and epidural-related tasks, respond to newborn resuscitation procedures, and support postpartum workflows when couples require ongoing monitoring. The unit is set up with labor rooms, triage rooms, an OR suite, and PACU—so no two nights look exactly the same.

Awhonn Staffing Guidelines support the unit’s approach to active labor and couplet care, and you’ll be supported by charge leadership 24/7, with RT and hospitalist support available around the clock.
