Job Description:

Join a travel RN role supporting Med/Surg and Telemetry in Shelby, North Carolina, where your nights are focused on monitoring, coordination, and reliable execution across a broad mix of medical-surgical diagnoses. This assignment is built around 12-hour night shifts and includes weekend rotation (every other), with the possibility of low-census call back. On the unit, you’ll handle a steady variety of cases including total joint replacements, colon resection, gallbladder and appendectomy care, amputations, hip fractures, SBO management with NG tubes, and medical overflow—working alongside a full support team that includes CNA assistance for vitals, mobility, turning, baths, and blood sugars, as well as telemetry monitoring/tech resources and 24/7 coverage from hospitalists, intensivists, and respiratory therapy.

You’ll be using EPIC and unit technology including Alaris IV pumps and Omnicell medication dispensing, with monitoring equipment such as Phillips monitors. A strong Med/Tele skillset is essential—cardiac rhythm interpretation, experience with non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem/Amiodarone), wound care, drain/tube management, PIV starts, and central line management—plus BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS. If you’re open to occasional floating within the region and scope of practice, this contract offers that flexibility (floating mid-shift keeps you on the clock while traveling between facilities).
