Job Description:

Join Penobscot Valley Hospital in Lincoln, Maine, as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLT) for a 13-week contract. This role offers a hands-on laboratory experience in a critical access hospital setting, with 12-hour daytime shifts and weekend rotations that keep things interesting. You’ll perform microbiology testing—including gram stains, culture plating, and blood cultures—and handle blood bank procedures. Proficiency in phlebotomy, blood bank testing, and COVID-19 safety protocols are essential. Expect to work holidays on a rotating basis, fill in overnight shifts occasionally, and showcase your ability to multitask and work independently within a supportive team.
