Job Description:

Join a fast-paced stepdown unit in Council Bluffs, Iowa, as a registered nurse on a 13-week travel contract. In this role, you will be responsible for managing patients with diagnoses such as heart failure, atrial fibrillation, respiratory distress, and stroke. You’ll handle titration of drips like Cardizem, amiodarone, and nitro, while interpreting telemetry strips and troubleshooting ventilator equipment including CPAP and BiPAP. The shift is 12-hour nights, with a schedule that cycles between 6:30 pm and 7:00 am, every other weekend, and alternating holiday coverage. This assignment offers the chance to work alongside charge nurses with full patient loads, including 22 beds with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, and the opportunity to float to ICU if needed. Artificial nails are prohibited, and a driver’s license is required for proximity checks. This role provides an engaging experience in a dynamic, high-admission setting where teamwork and a positive attitude are essential.
