Job Description:
Join a specialized surgical unit in beautiful Hilo, where you will provide critical preoperative and postoperative nursing care for adult patients undergoing a variety of surgeries. This assignment offers the chance to work primarily night shifts, with duties including monitoring vital signs, managing IV and PCA pumps, and documenting in EMR systems. As an RN in this role, you'll navigate a 34-bed setting, contributing to patient recovery in a collaborative environment. Expect to assist with procedures such as lap chole, appendectomies, mastectomies, and thyroid surgeries, using equipment like vital signs machines, Pyxis, and surgical drains. The role emphasizes strong surgical nursing experience, especially in pre/postoperative care, with a focus on efficiency and attention to detail. You'll be floating to different units as needed, working in a busy but rewarding environment that values your expertise and adaptability. A Hawaii license is required before start, along with current BLS and ACLS certifications.
