Job Description:

This operating room RN position offers an engaging opportunity to work in a busy surgical setting, primarily covering pediatric procedures and women’s surgeries. The role involves night shifts of three 12-hour overnight shifts per week, from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with weekend work required—primarily Friday nights. The assignment requires the flexibility to float within scope if needed, although it’s primarily a designated critical position. Expect to be responsible for supporting surgical teams, ensuring sterile procedures, and maintaining efficient OR schedules. Certifying in South Carolina or holding a Compact Nursing License, along with BLS certification, is mandatory. Prior experience of at least two years in pediatric settings and two contracts in similar roles is preferred. The environment is fast-paced, demanding precision and calmness through the night, yet offers rewarding surgical involvement in a supportive team atmosphere. Experienced first-timers are not accepted. This is a temporary contract of 13 weeks, with a weekly commitment of 36 hours, allowing for guaranteed hours and some flexibility in case of call-offs. During hurricane season, staff may be called upon for emergency response, so availability during this period is essential.
