Job Description:
This level I trauma nursing position at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences offers an immersive experience in a high-acuity emergency department. You will be responsible for managing complex cardiac cases, stroke protocols, and advanced airway procedures in a fast-paced environment. The shift runs 12 hours overnight, from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM, for a period of 13 weeks. Expect to collaborate with respiratory therapists, handle high-risk procedures like TPA administration, and adapt to a variety of critical scenarios, all while working with a 1:3-4 nurse-to-patient ratio. Prior level I trauma experience and certifications in ACLS, BLS, and PALS are required; TNCC and NIHSS are preferred. This assignment provides the chance to hone specialized skills in a teaching hospital setting that demands swift clinical judgment and teamwork.
