Job Description:

This registered nurse position in telemetry offers a unique opportunity to work with post-operative urology patients recovering from procedures like robotic prostatectomies and nephrectomies. Expect to handle a mix of med/surg overflow cases such as sepsis, DVT/PE, CHF, COPD, and COVID, along with occasional post-op cases like joint replacements and GI surgeries. The shift is a 12-hour night rotation, with a typical patient ratio of 1:5-6 on nights, and up to 3 CNAs per shift. You'll participate in a comprehensive orientation, including hospital and unit-specific training, and work within a supportive team that includes charge nurses, support staff, and hospitalist availability. This assignment emphasizes skill application in wound management, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and telemetry. The role is ideal for RN travelers with at least 2 years of acute care experience, ready to pass an EKG competency exam, and comfortable floating across Med/Surg units. No on-call duties are required, and weekend rotations are every other week. The setting provides an educational environment focused on advancing post-op urology care and offering new learning opportunities.
