Job Description:

Join Aspirus Wausau Hospital as a registered nurse in a fast-paced post-surgical care unit where you'll care for adult and geriatric patients recovering from various surgical procedures. This 13-week contract offers a unique chance to work in a 40-bed inpatient setting, managing multiple admissions daily. Your role involves providing direct patient care during 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, with every other weekend and holidays off. If you enjoy multitasking in a team-oriented environment, this assignment offers an engaging experience with opportunities to work alongside skilled staff using Epic EMR and advanced equipment like Alaris pumps and Rovers for medication scanning. You will be working in a unit with a high patient turnover, averaging 10-15 admissions daily, and maintaining a patient ratio of approximately 1:4 or 1:5, depending on shift. Prior trauma level II experience and recent hospital Med Surg background are essential, along with at least 2 years of experience and travel background. Certifications such as WI RN license and BLS (AHA or ARC) are required upon submission.
