Job Description:

This observation Medical/Surgical RN position located at Deaconess Gateway in Newburgh, IN offers a unique opportunity for experienced nurses to work night shifts in a vibrant hospital setting. The role involves handling a diverse patient population with conditions such as chest pain, abdominal pain, CVA/TIA, and general weakness, all while demonstrating strong assessment and critical thinking skills. The nurse will perform tasks including PIV insertions, managing stable drips like heparin and lasix, and supporting a team backed by excellent LPN and CNA support. The shift runs from 6:30 pm to 7:00 am, with an emphasis on adaptability and resilience—important traits for navigating float requirements within the same campus or possibly to nearby facilities. This 13-week contract promises a steady schedule with guaranteed hours, and the opportunity to develop critical experience in a teaching hospital environment.
