Job Description:

This 13-week travel assignment places you in a specialized orthopedic and post-operative unit, where you'll work 12-hour night shifts. The role involves managing patients recovering from hip, knee, spine, and shoulder surgeries, along with general post-op care for conditions such as pneumonia, CHF, COPD, and geriatric health issues with multiple comorbidities. Expect to perform IV starts independently, titrate several drips including Heparin and Insulin, and monitor patients using Mindray tele monitors. The assignment's unique aspect is the autonomous work with a focus on orthopedic and heavy post-op cases, supported by a dedicated team of nurse aides and a charge RN who may take minimal patient assignments. Prepare to engage in patient assessments, administer IV medications, and collaborate closely with the team to ensure smooth patient transitions. The setting champions a focused, hands-on nursing role in a busy, high-acuity environment.
