Job Description:

Join UVMHN Porter Medical Center's Emergency Department in a 16-week travel contract as an experienced RN. This role involves managing a high-stakes environment with 10-14 beds, supporting urgent care for patients from newborns to seniors. You will be responsible for procedures such as IV insertions, EKGs, and procedural sedation, with the opportunity to utilize Epic documentation and Pyxis medication systems. The shift is 12 hours overnight, offering a chance to experience the unique rhythm of a rural Vermont ED that handles trauma, stroke, and STEMI cases, often requiring transport to higher levels of care. Charge nurse experience is highly preferred, and the role includes participation in rotating holiday schedules. An exciting aspect of this assignment is the chance to provide critical support in a facility that embraces telemedicine for stroke and specialty consultations. You’ll work closely with multidisciplinary teams and may be called upon to precept or mentor new nurses, enhancing your leadership skills while enjoying the camaraderie of a dedicated staff.
