Job Description:

This 13-week contract offers an engaging opportunity for an experienced Med/Surg RN to work at a prominent hospital in Evansville, Indiana. The role involves 12-hour day shifts, primarily on the Midtown unit, where you will manage a diverse patient population recovering from surgeries, dealing with conditions such as UTIs, sepsis, and respiratory issues like COPD and CHF. Your duties will include managing chest tubes, NG/PEG tubes, straight caths, Foleys, ostomies, Heparin drips, blood products, and tracheostomies, requiring strong assessment and critical thinking skills. The assignment encompasses float responsibilities within your skillset, with the possibility to cover nearby campuses, providing a dynamic and varied work week. You'll be part of a well-supported team, where experienced leadership and CNA support help facilitate a smooth experience. This assignment is unique in its need for active EPIC charting and precepting of students or new staff, adding an educational component to your routine. The focus remains on delivering high-quality patient care—without the responsibilities of direct patient care—within a hospital setting known for its teaching environment.
